Following on from last year's success, 45 students signed up to this terms Big Hit programme that aimed to deliver 6 weeks of squash coaching to the students as well as providing them with incentives to join and equipment to get them started.
The sessions have been greatly attended and the squash club is going from strength to strength. Students were given a non-obligatory taster session that they could attend prior to signing up to the course that really helped to boost participation numbers.
ESR East Mids Regional Manager John Davis commented; "The University squash club along with the local coaches have worked really hard to promote the sport to the local students and as a result of Nigel's and Cameron's hard work they have managed to build on last year's success. The club now offers an inclusive beginner and intermediate programme as well as fielding teams in BUCS and local leagues. It's fantastic to see so many people interested in and playing squash on a regular basis at the University!"
